What is deep linking?

In today’s post I want to cover something called deep-linking, and let you know how it can help you get more traffic.

A deep link is a link that points to a page on your site OTHER than your homepage, so your internal pages and blog posts.

As you’d imagine, any natural looking website has a significant number of links that link deep, pointing to specific posts/pages rather than directly back to the homepage.

1) linking deep gives you a more natural link distribution

2) deep linking boosts the rankings of the keywords you target on inner pages

3) deep linking boosts long tail traffic SIGNIFICANTLY

4) deep linking can enhance the traffic of your ENTIRE site as link juice disperses through your internal links and flows freely through your site

All true Authority Sites have deep links, and this is not a coincidence!

..is that it’s usually expensive and difficult to maintain.

Often you’ll write a post that doesn’t quite merit a full round of backlinks, so it gets neglected and gets no links.

This is a shame, because as you know the more backlinks you get, the better.
